Honor Ride Military Hearses came to us by way of a vision, from our experiences, and by the way of the owner’s destinies.
The President and Founding Member, Paul Baue, is a funeral director with 20+ years of experience in all aspects of his family’s 4th generation funeral business and cemetery. He had a vision and determination to push through many personal and professional barriers that tried to get in the way of making this an amazing military tribute. He knew that making this military hearse could be so important for both the military and the funeral industry that he was willing to push through those risks.
Well, destiny has its way of putting people in the right places, and within days of his thoughts, he met Sgt. Marc Johannes, who became the Vice President and a partner. Marc, a 33-year military veteran and service technician, specializes in military vehicles. The two crossed paths on a Boy Scout camping trip, and through hours of conversation, they found that they both agreed that the funeral industry was missing the mark on a true military hearse tribute for veterans.
Further into their conversation, that “aha” moment came to them. With that in mind, they both agreed that the #1 and most popular military combat vehicle in history was the H1 Slant-Back Humvee. With further discussion, they both realized that this would be the perfect vehicle and that no other version would be more appropriate for funerals as the H1 Slant-Back Humvee.
